Surveyors Registration Board of Victoria (SRBV) initiated a once-in-a-generation review of how licensed surveyors are registered in Victoria and engaged an independent consultant to review its policies and processes for licensing surveyors in Victoria.

The SRBV is pleased to advise that this review is complete following comprehensive engagement with industry.

The final report was accepted at the Boards meeting on 13 December 2021. The Board will hold a focused meeting in early 2022 to consider the recommendations and will provide further advice soon after.

The review will help improve existing processes, without compromising competency, and ensure Victoria has a sustainable surveying workforce to support property and infrastructure development throughout the State.

About the Surveyors Registration Board of Victoria

SRBV is governed by the Surveying Act 2004. They are responsible for regulating licensed surveyors in Victoria to protect and maintain the integrity of Victoria’s cadastre and property market.

The Act requires SRBV to set and assess competency standards for licensed surveyors. SRBV also maintains a Register of Licensed Surveyors, investigates complaints about professional conduct of licensed surveyors and fosters further professional education or training of licensed surveyors.
