What is Vicmap Survey?
Vicmap Survey provides digital cadastral survey data and analysis services through the ePlan Portal in SPEAR.
The Surveyor-General of Victoria is the custodian of this data set and is responsible for providing access to it under section 42 of the Surveying Act 2004.
The data is a product of Victoria’s 4-year investment to upgrade the accuracy of digital cadastral data through the Digital Cadastre Modernisation (DCM) project.
Who can access the data?
Vicmap survey data is available to registered users of the SPEAR system who have the Applicant Contact (surveying organisation) user role, or who are Land Use Victoria employees. For more information, visit the SPEAR website.
What data is available
Vicmap Survey provides unadjusted digital plan and survey information georeferenced to Geocentric Datum of Australia 2020. It allows users to identify possible survey differences and cadastral re-establishment issues.
The data set includes unadjusted plan and survey information from:
- all registered ePlans
- over 1 million registered plans and surveys digitised through the DCM project.
The digitised DCM data contains parcel and boundary information, road abuttals and land location information from the plan. The data also contains some survey information from the Abstract of Field Records including:
- traverses, radiations and PM connections
- parcel dimensions
- bearing datum swings
- survey mark details
- unique identifiers for all point, line, and polygon data
- land parcel identifiers such as Crown descriptions and local government areas.
Plan-specific data is not available.
Supported data formats
Vicmap survey data will be available for surveyors to download in the following formats:
- LandXML v1.2 (based on ePlan protocol) – from July 2024
- DXF v2010 (based on Single CAD Format File - SCFF) – from 2025
- CSV (points dataset) – from 2025
How to access
