The Vicmap spatial upgrade is delivering significant benefits for Vicmap customers by providing better spatial accuracy in the more than 20 municipalities that have been upgraded to date.
As a result of the spatial upgrade, Vicmap can now provide an accuracy value for each land parcel. This means that each parcel has now been individually adjusted to improve its spatial accuracy.
For spatial specialists, this spatial quality statement is based on least squares adjustments of title dimensions and cadastral survey traversing. This gives our customers a vastly superior indicator of position than the nominal precision based on scale of mapping capture.
The Vicmap spatial upgrade has been delivered for 21 Local Government Areas so far:
- Hobsons Bay City Council
- Brimbank City Council
- Borough of Queenscliffe
- Nillumbik Shire Council
- Darebin City Council
- Bayside City Council
- Banyule City Council
- Moonee Valley City Council
- Whittlesea City Council
- Manningham City Council
- Kingston City Council
- Stonnington City Council
- City of Greater Geelong
- City of Melbourne
- Merri-bek City Council
- City of Boroondarra
- City of Glen Eira
- City of Maroondah
- City of Port Phillip
- City of Whitehorse
- City of Casey
Vicmap customers can view the upgraded data for all upcoming Local Government Areas prior to the upgrade going live in Vicmap. Spatially upgraded parcel data is now available for more than 50 municipalities in our Integration Viewer.
